The Philippines is on the Continent of Asia. In the Philippines they speak two different languages, Filipino and English. The Philippines has seven thousand islands, the biggest island is Luzon. There are about two hundred volcanoes on the islands of the Philippines; most of them are not active. The seven thousand volcanoes were a part of Spain from 1565 1898. The Philippines was ruled by Ferdinand Marcos from 1965 to 1986 .

The celebration of Sinulog is held every year on the third Sunday of January, in Cebu City in the Philippines. The traditional celebration Sinulog is nine days long. On the final day they do a Sinulog Grand Parade. The Fluvial Parade is the morning of the grand parade. It is held with the Santo Niño. It is carried on a boat that is decorated with a lot of candles and flowers. That boat goes from Mandaue City to Cebu City .
