On the 22 nd of February the people of Philippines celebrate a holiday that is called ESDA Revolution Day. It all started along time ago with a very bad president that was stealing all the money. People were dying of hunger so they put together a protest to get him out of office. For three days, men, women and children filled the streets of EDSA (Epifanio de los Santos Avenue, which was the focal point of the demonstrations) hoping to accomplished their goal. For those brief moments, they feared for their security, their lives, and their future. This is why they celebrate that day when they fought for their liberty. It’s a beautiful holiday! People wear normal clothing and not any special costumes. They don’t have a special place to celebrate it either. |
