CHRISTMAS!

By Deion

My favorite holiday is Christmas, I love to go to new York to celebrate Christmas with my family, even though we do the same thing every year we still have a splendid time. I like it when my grandma makes a big breakfast early in the morning in her home. My sister and I wake each other up, then my aunt wakes up fifteen minutes later and my mom and big brother walk down and we all watch B.E.T and eat breakfast.

The one special thing I love most about Christmas that keeps my spirit going, is presents. I love getting presents! But not as much as I love to give presents. I can go a little over board with giving because I want all the people that I am going to buy for to love my gifts. I tend to buy expensive things for them and end up with a small amount of money.

My whole family gets together at my great grandma’s home and we have an even bigger Christmas. I don’t know about other families but I celebrate with a lot of people around and we tend to make lots of noise. My cousin, Paris and I always talk to each other because we don’t see each other for a whole six months. So we got a lot of catching up to do, we do it like old times, talk about wrestling (W.W.E), which one has a girlfriend, we tend to arm wrestle each other, and share some laughs. All the guys are in the living room watching football and the women are in the kitchen talking and cooking. It’s kind of the same thing that happens every year. I was thinking that, “Why don't the guys go in the kitchen and chat and the women watch football???” It would look weird just seeing it. Some people celebrate with friends and neighbors but to me it’s kind of a LAW. I must spend Christmas with family.

Another thing is I get to see my mom. I get to see everyone on my mom's side of the family and it is always fun even though we do it every year. Then after the party is over me and my sister and 2 other cousins (Anita, Paris) beg their parents to let us come over their house. When they say yes we start planning on what to do when we get to their house. Paris and I always go downstairs to play on the PlayStation 2 and play W.W.E wrestling 2008. Anita and my sister go on the computer and go on different websites and chat with other old friends that they remember from the time we lived in New York. We stay up until we feel tired but that is not until four or three in the morning .

The next morning, we wake up around noon, eat breakfast and go back to what we was doing the night before. We unwrap the presents we got from our great grandma and play with all of our things we got for Christmas. Everybody cleans up the wrapping paper and boxes of clothes, toys, and electronics away. Clean up the Christmas decoration and take down the trees, decorating, pictures, lights, and the big star on top. When that’s finished everyone packs up their things, Christmas gifts, clothes, etc. Then we wait for our dad to come pick us up to go back to Maryland.

Then me and sister go home. It’s a long way back home to Maryland. When we finally arrive at night our dad gives us our Christmas presents from him then we clean up all the decorations in our home and put away all our new Christmas gifts and clothes. We take the old gifts and clothes and give them away to some other little kids who need them. That’s how my Christmas is.
