Once a Year Holiday: Christmas

By: Amberlin Hines

Christmas is Christian holiday. Christmas is almost everywhere in America. Mostly it is about family time. We always set up a pine tree as Christmas tree; we usually put it in our living room. The Christmas tree always full of ornaments, ribbons, and lights all over. Some people like to put an angel on top of the tree. Jesus was born on Christmas.

On Christmas Eve, families wrap their gift to someone else and put them around the tree. Or some people just finished, they can put them under the tree before Christmas Eve. Most families have a big feast like they did on Thanksgiving on Christmas Eve. Hearing people like to hear some music about Christmas, and little kids looking out for Santa Claus.
On morning or Christmas day, people always wake other people in the house at moment they wake up. Everybody takes their pictures when someone opened their gifts from other person, little kids opens their gift as they thinks from Santa Claus. Everybody brings out a great smile.
Some people don’t go visit their family; they just stay home with their wives or husbands, and their children. For some people, Christmas day is a golly busy day for them. They go visit most of their friends or families’ home in one day, opening and giving out the gifts to other people.
We celebrate Christmas because we want to honor Jesus’s birth.
